What are Langdon Days?
Langdon Days is an annual 3-day event that occurs in the 3rd week of July. It’s a celebration of the people and businesses that make up the community and a great event for adults and children alike, as there are many activities for all to do. It’s a community tradition that dates back to 1945 and is organized by the Langdon Community Association.
Where does Langdon Days occur?
All weekend activities take place in the hamlet of Langdon, AB, which is located 30 minutes east of downtown Calgary. Glenmore Trail East provides the best access to the event, which is spread throughout the Iron Horse Fields, Langdon Park, and the town itself.
What does the weekend entail?
Weekend activities include:
- 3-day slow-pitch tournament
- Bingo
- Parade
- Pancake breakfast
- BBQ lunch
- Market
- Car Show
- Children's festival
- Family movie night
- Fireworks
- Food trucks
- Beer gardens
The Community Association also provides shuttle services throughout the weekend between Langdon Park and the Iron Horse Fields.
Where does the money raised over the weekend go?
Money raised throughout the festival is used to make improvements to public spaces in the area as well as to help fund other events that happen throughout the year.
